What to look for in a Home Evaluator or Home Inspector:
Most homeowners have used a Home Inspector as part of their "due-diligence" when they bought their home. A good Home Inspector will take several hours to cover your home from top to bottom, and will leave you with a complete picture of the house before you commit to the purchase. The fee of a great Home Inspector is cheap assurance against costly surprises.

A Home Energy-Efficiency Evaluator looks at the parts of your home which relate to energy-efficiency and comfort. Such items include heating systems, windows, insulation and air leakage. The evaluation provides an in-home assessment and computer-generated report which is specific to your home. Through this process you will see what parts of your home can be upgraded to yield the greatest benefit for the least cost.

Einar Halbig Consulting:

Einar Halbig has conducted EnerGuide evaluations on houses across the Lower Mainland for the past three years. Now, based on almost 2000 evaluations, he presents the "Einar-Guide", which provides even greater detail about the homeowner's specific house. Find out exactly what effect new windows would have in your own house, or a new furnace, or what about insulating the attic better? Do you have a "black hole" in your house? See how to invest your home-improvement dollars as wisely as possible through the "Einar-Guide". More information can be found at www.einarhalbigconsulting.com.  Einar can be reached at 604-727-4322, or at Einar@einarhalbigconsulting.com.
